Makin' a Mess

Jacob and Benjamin never cease to amaze me with the messes they can make.
I sent the boys outside on the deck to play while I made their lunch. I could see them riding their three wheelers and playing with their toys from the windows in my kitchen. They were playing so nicely. All of a sudden I heard silence..........(with kids.....that means anything but good is happening.) I couldn't see them from the kitchen windows, so I went over to the sliding glass door to check on them and found them and the mess they had made in the corner of the deck. They made the mess from a stack of cardboard boxes and styrofoam that Keith had neatly stacked in the corner to haul off to the dump next time we went. Well needless to say, the boys found it and had a hayday. They even tore the styromfoam into millions of tiny little pieces. They said it was snowing. I had to get my camera to capture this moment. I am told that one day I will miss these messes. LOL! :)

Oh Mercy!

Benjamin said the funniest thing tonight as Keith and I were dressing him for bed. Keep in mind Benji has been pretty hyper this evening...so..... after Benji's bath tonight, Keith put lotion on him and then we were trying to get him to lay down so I could put his diaper on him, but Benji kept jumping on the bed and ignoring our requests. Keith finally said in a very stern voice..."Benjamin.....lay down!!" and Benji just grinned at his daddy and said very slowly and very drawn out..... "Oh Mercy". It was the funniest thing! Keith and I couldn't help but laugh right then and there. Kids say the darndest things for sure. Needless to say, Benjamin is a little stinker. He amazes us everyday with things he is learning and saying and doing. He is a quick learner and he is very sneaky.

Jacob's First Baseball Game!!!!

Jacob's first baseball game was today!! He did so good! He got to bat 4 times and scored 3 runs! We won the game 23 to 8! He also fielded a few balls and threw them in like a pro. He plays left field. Keith and I are so proud of him. He looked so cute in his little Red Sox uniform. He was very proud of himself too. He did alot of grinning this evening! We are looking forward to many more games. This is so fun!! The first thing Jacob said in his bedtime prayer tonight was "Thank you God for my ballgame." Isn't that so precious???!!

Happy Birthday Jacob!!

Jacob had his 5th Birthday party Sunday at Chuck E. Cheese. He has been looking forward to this for months now. This was Jacob's first birthday party away from home and he loved it! Needless to say, Jacob, Benjamin and all of their friends had a blast!! As for Keith and I.......well lets just say it was a little chaotic....lol! Jacob's actual birthday is on Thursday, September 25th, but due to prior commitments we celebrated early. Jacob was so happy that his friends Katie and Jace and cousin Curtis came and celebrated his birthday with him. His Grandparents were also there. They included his Granny Eskridge, his Papaw and Mi-mi Johnson , and Papaw and Granny Snow (Great Grandparents). Aunt Lissy was there too....she wouldn't have missed it for the world. Also, Katie's mom Amy (my friend) was there and Curtis' dad James (my cousin) was there also. The kids played games and rode the rides and then Chuck E. Cheese came out and all the kids lined up behind him (there were other kids there having parties at the same time) and marched around the room singing songs and dancing. Then after the Chuck E. show was over, the kids ate pizza and birthday cake. Jacob had a Power Ranger cake this year. He likes Power Rangers right now. You know it's always changing. The last thing Jacob did at his party was open his presents. He got some cool gifts that he is so excited about. He started playing with his birthday toys as soon as we got home from the party. You should have seen Keith and I opening the boxes. Those things are hard to get into! Then we had to put batteries into everything and put a few things together. It was all worth it to see the smile on his face. Jacob played with his birthday toys first thing this morning and then again as soon as he got home from preschool. And yes, Benjamin is playing with all the toys too. They have been fighting over them already!
Jacob is growing up so fast right before our very eyes. It seems like only yesterday that he was born. I remember it so vividly. He is not my little bitty baby anymore..........he is my big baby.....:) No matter how big he gets, he will ALWAYS be my baby!!!!! Happy Birthday Jacob.....we love you!!

Splish Splash We Were Takin' a Bath!!

Jacob asked if he and Benjamin could have bubbles in their bath tonight and I said "yes". They sure did have bubbles alright..............they had them everywhere! LOL! It was fun though. They were so cute. I love to see my boys having fun. There is not a better feeling in the world than when my kids are happy.

Jacob Feeling Better!

Jacob slept really good last night and woke up feeling much better this morning. I took this picture of Jacob this morning to show you all that he is smiling again. His voice is coming back too. He still sounds very hoarse, but at least he can talk. He couldn't talk at all yesterday. Poor little guy has had it rough for the past couple of days. Keith and Benjamin are going to church this morning, but Jacob and I are going to stay home so Jacob can have more rest time and some extra TLC from Mommy. I think it's the TLC that has got Jacob feeling much better. :)

As for Benjamin.........I think he has actually enjoyed Jacob not having a voice the past couple of days because he didn't have Jacob talking over him or telling him what to do. He didn't have to verbally compete for Mommy and Daddy's attention the past few days. LOL! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for Jacob. We are so glad to see him back to his old self and on the mend. Until next time...............................

Jacob Is Under the Weather

Jacob is not feeling well at all today. He had a really bad night last night. Needless to say, we are very tired today because we were up and down throughout the night since 1:30 a.m. He has the croup and can barely talk. Last night he had a hard time with his breathing. He has laid around all morning and is not really eating much (which is not normal for Jacob). The doctor's office said it's viral (which means nothing they can do) and suggested some home treatments to try. Please pray for Jacob to get better soon. Thank you all!

Labor Day Barbeque with Family

We had a Labor Day Barbeque at Keith's Mom and Dad's house this past Sunday. Lots of family was there and we had a big time! There were a ton of kids and Aunt Neicy shot fireworks for them and they really loved that! There was lots of good food too! We had a really fun time! Can't wait until we all get together again!

Annual Zoo Trip!

We had so much fun at the zoo this year. We missed going last year, so this year was a must. Jacob and Benjamin both had a wonderful time. Papaw and Mi-Mi Johnson went with us and Aunt Lissy too! Keith didn't get to make it because he was working. I know he really hates he missed the zoo.......lol!
The boys really enjoyed seeing all of the different kinds of animals. They also loved seeing the snakes and turtles. After we saw all of the animals we ended our zoo trip at Kid's Cove at the zoo. Kid's Cove has a sandbox, slides, playhouses, and a creek the kids can get in. They both loved getting wet! I think that was the highlight of their day......getting wet. Needless to say, all of us adults were exhausted. After we left the zoo we went out to eat at Applebee's. Jacob must have been famished because he ordered steak, ribs, hamburger, french fries and lemonade! Yes, he got all of that!....you must understand though........when Papaw Johnson is around, the boys get anything they want. Talk about spoiling some kids!!!!! Don't worry, he did't eat all of the food. We took the leftovers home to Keith. All in all we had a great day and we can't wait until we go again next year!!!

First Day of Preschool

Jacob and Benjamin are loving preschool. They started on Aug. 18th, but I am just now getting my blog page together....so we are playing catch up. Their teachers say they are doing wonderful in class and they are such a joy to be around. We are so proud of them! Benjamin is actually going to sleep at naptime! Imagine that! He really has adjusted well. He only cried the first day I dropped him off and after that he has never cried when I have dropped him off. What a big boy!
Jacob is doing really good of course. He is a pro now. He has been going since he was 2 years old, so he has this preschool thing down pat! I hope he does this well when he goes to kindergarten next year. He technically could have gone this year, but Keith and I decided that it would be best to wait a year. He met the school's cut off date by only 5 days. I am happy about our decision so I can keep him around here longer with me. I don't know what I'm gonna do when he actually does go to school. We will cross that bridge when we get there! Until next time............................

Fall Ball!

Jacob has started playing baseball! We are all so excited. Benji is even telling everyone that Jacob had a ballgame. He says "Gacob bawgame". It's so cute. I took Benji's toy lawnmower and he mowed and played in the dirt. Yesterday was Jacob's 2nd practice and they actually had a scrimage game with another team that was there practicing too. It was so fun to see him actually playing in a game! It was so cute because he had no clue what he was doing. He doesn't know the rules of the game and he had never used a real bat before.....only the plastic ones. He actually got a hit the first time up to bat and he ran to first as fast as he could, but he got out. He doesn't even know what "getting out" means, so after they threw him out, he just stayed there on the base so proud that he had hit it and ran to first base. It was so cute! He is a work in progress and he will do wonderful! Keith has alot of teaching to do.......and he will enjoy every minute of it. Jacob plays left field and really hustles after the ball when it's hit to him. The coaches told us that real games will start in 2 weeks. I will keep everyone updated on Jacob's progress! I guess Benji is gonna wear himself out mowing this fall at the games....lol!
