We won!!

Jacob's baseball team won again last night!! Thanks to the coach on the other team, Jacob got a hit on his first time up to bat. Let me explain: The batter is only allowed to have 5 pitches, if he doesn't hit the ball by the 5th pitch, he is out. Well Jacob missed his 5th pitch and the coach of the other team yelled "Foul Ball!"........and he let Jacob have another pitch. Jacob hit the 6th pitch and got to run the bases. He was so proud of himself! Thank you coach of the other team! He also did really good in the outfield and he is having lots of fun. There was only one downfall to last night's game....................IT WAS COLD!!!! Brrrrrr......................................

Spooktacular!

Jacob and Benjamin's cousins, Jaden and Josh, are visiting us from South Carolina! We are enjoying them being with us so much! They spent the night with us last night and went with us to "Spooktacular" at Fort SouthWest Point today. The boys dressed up and got lots of candy! They had a really fun time. Jaden was a Pirate, Josh was a Ninja, Jacob was a Power Ranger, and Benjamin was a Baby Pirate. They were too cute! We love our family so much!

The Red Sox won again!!

Jacob's baseball team won again Monday night. Way to go Red Sox!! Jacob did a little bit better at batting this time. He got up to bat twice and he struck out once and got a hit the the other time. He was very happy. He was okay with striking out one time. We didn't have any meltdowns after the game. I think he was okay with getting to hit it only once. Some of our other players had a bad batting night too. That's just part of it. It can't always be perfect. We didn't win very big this time. I think the final score was 8-5. We played the Mets and they were a very good team. It's amazing how these small children learn and improve so quickly. I don't think the Mets had all of their players there Monday night, so we better get ready for the next time we play them because they mean business!! I think all of the kids on all of the teams are so sweet. I want them all to do good regardless of what team they are on. I find myself sometimes clapping for kids on the other teams. That's just my heart. Until next time...................Go Red Sox!!

I Have Been Blessed

If you have your speakers on right now, you can hear a song playing called "Blessed" by Martina McBride. The words of this song exactly describes where I am at in my life right now. I am so Blessed with a wonderful husband, two awesome boys, a home, clothes to wear, food to eat, a family that loves me and so much more. I could go on and on telling you what the Lord has blessed me with. I give God all the Glory for all the things he has done in my life.

Blessed
I get kissed by the sun each morning
Put my feet on a hardwood floor
I get to hear my children laughing
Down the hall through the bedroom door
Sometimes I sit on my front porch swing
Just soaking up the day
I think to myself, I think to myself
This world is a beautiful place
I have been blessed
And I feel like I've found my way
I thank God for all I've been given
At the end of every day
I have been blessed
With so much more than I deserve
To be here with the ones who love me
To love them so much it hurts
I have been blessed
Across the crowded room
I know you know what I'm thinking
By the way I look at you
And when we're lying in the quiet
And no words have to be said
I think to myself, I think to myself
This love is a beautiful gift
I have been blessed
And I feel like I've found my way
I thank God for all I've been given
At the end of every day
I have been blessed
With so much more than I deserve
To be here with the ones who love me
To love them so much it hurts
I have been blessed
When I'm singing my kids to sleep
When I feel you holding me
I know
I AM SO BLESSED!!!

Pumpkin Carving!

After much begging, we carved Jacob and Benjamin's pumpkins. Jacob was so excited when we got started and then he smelled the pumpkin guts and said "ewww....that stinks!" I laughed. Needless to say, he didn't help anymore with cleaning the pumpkin out. He started helping again once it was carving time. I let him pop the eyes, nose and mouth out once I carved them. After Jacob's pumpkin was finished, he said "I love it!!!". I didn't even bother to tell him that Mommy didn't do such a good job, I just let him think that it was the greatest in the world. Keith carved Benjamin's pumpkin for him. I think after he saw Jacob's pumpkin and what a terrible job I had done, he wanted to save Benjamin's. I have to admit, Keith did a better job than me, but I won't admit that to him. LOL!!! Regardless, the boys love their jack-o'-lanterns and that makes it all worth it!! They can't wait to light them up tonight! I guess you could say we are starting early. LOL! I hope the pumpkins don't rot before Halloween night.

Oh, by the way, yes Jacob had a wardrobe change during all of this as you will notice in the pictures. Once we finished with his pumpkin he went inside and put on his motorcycle racing outfit. This is not his Halloween outfit this year, it's just one of his many costumes that he likes to play in. He is going to be a Power Ranger this year.....the blue one. You will see that one on my Halloween post. Until then...........Happy Halloween Everyone!!

Autumn Acres Pumpkin Patch

Jacob, Benjamin and I took a trip today to Autumn Acres Pumpkin Patch in Crossville. We went with the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group that I am in. All us Mommys and our kids went together and had a wonderful time. We went on the hayride to the pumpkin patch first. That was so fun! The boys loved riding on the wagon pulled by the tractor. Benjamin kept saying "Mommy....wook.......twactor". The boys had so much fun picking out their very own pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. Benjamin calls his pumpkin a "twactor punkin" because he associates the whole thing with the tractor. For those of you who don't know....Benjamin absolutely loves tractors. He spots one everywhere we go. Needless to say, we have already washed the pumpkins off and put them on display on our front porch. They are so proud of them! Benjamin has already had to go out on the porch just to give his pumpkin a hug. So sweet!
When we were finished with the hayride, we went through the corn maze which was alot of fun. The boys loved running through the corn stalks on the paths that were cut out. We went on a maze that was not difficult at all and I still felt lost. LOL!!
The boys did many other fun things which consisted of but was not limited to playing on the playground, looking at the animals, and riding the barrel train. This train was home-made. It was made of cut-out plastic barrels which were hitched together and pulled by a 4 wheeler. I don't think it was the safest thing in the world but they loved it! We are definitely going to make this an annual event! I already can't wait till Autumn Acres 2009!

Yep.....you guessed it! We won again!

We did it again!!! The Red Sox won last night. The score was 16 to 6! We win that big every time! We are undefeated so far! We play a really good team on Monday. I hope we do as good as we have been. Jacob had batting issues again last night but he stopped the balls in the field that came to him and threw them in to stop the runner. Keith and I are so proud of him! He was very sad last night because he struck out twice. He started crying when we got home and said he wanted to quit baseball because he loses all the time. Keith and I were trying to encourage his spirits by telling him how proud of him we are and that he did really good and he would get a hit next game. Nothing we said comforted him. He kept saying he wanted to hit a ball "right now" and we kept explaining to him that it was dark outside and we couldn't until the next day. He did not want to except that answer and he kept asking to go hit a ball. Keith finally said "Cindy, turn the flood lights on outside, we are going to let Jacob hit some balls cause we gotta build his confidence up". So......that's exactly what I did and the whole family went outside for batting practice at 8:30 last night in the dark! Yep, Benji too! He got his plastic bat and ball and I pitched to him and he hit it and pretended to run the bases too. It was so fun. Jacob hit several balls and was much happier about the whole situation and his confidence was built back up. He started smiling again and that made me feel much better.

Jacob will get the hang of this whole batting thing soon enough. He is very impatient and wants everything to happen all at once. He wants to be as good as the bigger kids and he is not realizing and understanding that this is his first year and he is only 5 years old and he will get better as time goes on. Bless his little heart. All we can do is encourage him. He really is doing a wonderful job and overall he really enjoys baseball. Until next time...........................

More Messes

The boys got quiet again yesterday and this is what I found when I checked on them. They completely emptied Jacob's toybox and crawled in it. Yes, they had to clean it up.....but they sure did have a good time making the mess. Gotta love em'!

My Birthday Dinner!

My family took me out to dinner this past Sunday for my 33rd birthday. We had a really good time. The group consisted of my Dad, Mom, Sister Melissa, Brother-in-law Shane, Keith and our boys Jacob and Benjamin. The boys had a good time believe it or not. We went to Puleo's Grill in Knoxville and I think Jacob ate more food than any of us adults. That boy sure can put it away!! My family says he's just like his mama! LOL!! Thank you family for such an awesome time!! I love you all!!

Sunday Dinner with Papaw and Granny Eskridge

We had dinner today at Papaw and Granny Eskridge's house. Yummy! The boys love their cooking and they are always excited when we tell them we are going to eat with them. Jacob asked me if it was time to go eat at Granny's all through church service this morning. LOL! We had a good time with them. The boys' Great Uncle George was there too. Thank you Papaw and Granny!!

Kingston Country Fair

Mi-mi (my Mom) and I took the boys to the Country Fair in Kingston this morning and they had a big time jumping in the bounce house and sliding on the big inflatable slides. Jacob also wanted to climb on the rock climbing post so we let him give it a shot. He really couldn't get his feet placed just right to climb it, but he gave it a really good try. Maybe he will be able to climb it all the way next year. He had fun trying though. Thank you Mi-mi for a fun day.

Veggie Tales Live!!!

Keith and I took Jacob and Benjamin to see Veggie Tales Live tonight at the Knoxville Christian Center on Cedar Bluff. It was awesome!! The boys had so much fun....and so did we! They loved every minute of it! Here are a few pics from tonight.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.......they had a drawing to win two different prizes tonight at the show. One prize was 3 new Veggie Tales releases and the Grand Prize was a 24 DVD Library of Veggie Tales shows. When I first got there, I didn't realize that we were supposed to fill out that card we were given at the door for a chance to win one of these prizes (duh!), but when I found out from someone sitting beside me, I thought "I'm not gonna fill that out because I never win anything", and then I had a second thought "well you never know"............... and so I filled it out and turned it in. The announcer finally got around to drawing names at intermission and believe it or not..... I won the Grand Prize of the night!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How cool is that? Jacob said "Why didn't they say my name instead of yours?" I explained to him that by the announcer calling my name, that meant he was the winner. He was happy then.

Jacob said something so funny tonight: On one of the scenes, they were singing about a Cheeseburger, and there were two girls on stage singing back up. One was dressed like a bottle of ketchup and the other like a bottle of mustard. I said "look Jacob, they are dressed up like ketchup and mustard bottles!" He looked at the stage and then looked like he was in deep thought for a minute and then he looked back at me and asked "Mom, where is the hot sauce?" Is that hilarious or what???? Keep in mind that we like spicy foods here at our house and the hot sauce bottle makes it to our kitchen table for many meals. My kids never cease to amaze me.

Red Sox win again!!

Jacob had his 2nd Baseball game this past Monday and his team won again!! Jacob got a base hit every time he got up to bat. He also stopped a ground ball that was hit to him in left field and threw it in to stop the runner. We were winning by such a landslide that the coaches decided to switch up the positions and Jacob ended up playing short stop. That was funny! He had no clue what to do. He would just watch the balls zooming by him and it looked like he was thinking "what was that?". It was too cute! We all are having such a good time. Of course Benjamin had a good time playing in the rocks behind the bleachers. At one point during the game I said "Keith, do you see Benjamin anywhere?" and Keith started looking around for him and found him at the gate getting ready to go on to the ballfield. I guess he is ready to play too. lol. Everytime we get ready to go to a game he says "Gacob bawgame". Jacob is really loving this baseball stuff and can't wait unti the next game. He loves getting dressed up in his uniform for the games. He thinks he is big stuff (well, he is big stuff :) ) I will be sure to post updates on all the games. Until next time...........................
